  • Having trouble pasting web page text into word documents

what's the best way to past text from web pages such as new articles into word documents?

what I'm doing is selecting text and then copying it but when I try to paste it into a word document it doesn't always work.

Can you give an example, like what sites you're having trouble with?

Ok, let's try it this way: Give me specific sites where you're having this problem, I'll try to reproduce it, and we'll see if I can help you.

                Good luck!
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Using Firefox, I selected the text (left-click-and-drag), right-click > copy, and pasted into a MS Word document just fine. Just to be sure, I repeated the process but used Internet Explorer instead. I'm not sure why it's giving you trouble. Hell, I even got the picture to paste both times.

That still doesn't explain what the problem was, but if it works it works and that's all that matters.

the problem was either word wasn't reading the text or the text was coming with lots of web crap attached

You could try isolating the problem by trying to paste the contents of the clipboard into something else, say, Notepad.
