Actually, I find a few of these charts pretty clear-cut.
If you remove the US, quite a few of these charts still show an actual correlation. Even though the US is the worst charicature, Portugal and Austria occasionally show significant social problems, more than less religious countries.

if you look at the number of countries.. one or two points does not a correlation make

and the other religious nations (like Portugal) are significantly worse off then the other nations like England or Japan.. suggesting other factors

also, many of the charts (without the US on them), like the homicide one, show homicides rising, then falling, with religiousity

What the study shows is correlation between religious belief and society dysfunction. While this is deeply problematic for those who hold that atheism leads to such dysfunction, it does not establish that religion is necessarily the cause of it either*, or that those you endearingly calle "right-wing religious nuts" are more relevant than other religious people.

                  * Maybe both American religiosity and American societal dysfunction are results of something the Evul Librul Konspiracy is putting in the water.
I think societal dysfunction is much more complex than supposing that one or two segments of a population is THE EVIL cause of all such dysfunction. It's a mess of ignorant and/or hateful conservatives, liberals, religious faithful, atheists, straights, gays, blacks, whites, and on and on who all contribute to ****ing up our blessed country.
