Now, I ain't saying he's a great guy or even that he isn't a bad guy. He's a relatively minor thug in today's world, and in history I doubt he'll even be rememebered. He's certainly not the latest incarnation of Hitler.
    He is certainly not.
No autobahn's to remember him for.

That's not the tone I get. British foreign minister Jack Straw recently shook hands with Mugabe (accidently). There was a bit of criticism, but nothing like the criticism I'd expect if he was viewed in the way you suggest. There was similar grumbling about his visit to the Vatican, rather than hysterical outrage.

I'm talking about Apolyton, not the Brit media.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

I thought the war was about massive displacement, with some localized massacres aimed at striking fear.
Darfur is small peanuts compared to the actual civil war between north and south which has been going on since the early 80s.

A Polysearch of 'Mugabe' quickly demonstrates that obsessing over him is not a particularly British phenomenon.

There have been several threads, and many mentions of Mugabe in unrelated threads. Hell, someone else just called him the worst in the world the other day.

                Yeah, it could happen anywhere.

We routinely have the Dicator of the Week rolling out genocides every 5 years, while we just stand by and watch.
