In the US, there are Registered Nurses who have 4-year degrees. They are paid well. $4,750 median per month plus benefits. Licensed Practical Nurses have 2-year degrees and get paid about $3,000 per month. AFAIK, those without any special nursing education aren't paid that well. More like $2,250 plus benefits.

Az, please don't call BS. How long have I complained about high taxes and low salaries in here? Like always. This is the truth. This isn't some kind of look I chose the worst case scenario here. This is the norm.

Now some of you might understand where I come from with the whole down with the taxes thing. Basically when people make pretty little on average anyway, I don't see why they shoulod then pay high taxes for drunks to get new livers, when they can barely afford for rent, food and necessariy appliances.

2 028 is the average for women. Now consider that it includes all, so nurses are making less than average. Yeah I know it's LOW.

$29,000 is 2004 GDP.

According to the few webpages I've just googled the minimum starting salary for a nurse in Finland is 1600EUR or so, and the average salary is 2150EUR or so

Really? Minimum starting salary however doesn't mean much.

This however was in the Helsinki region. They were worried that they can't move to other places where they can make more. That was the point. Because they would make more if they would work in hospitals of Espoo and Vantaa (could still live in Helsinki, they're close), but they now can't, since they unified the benefits and all.. to the lowest bidder.
