I think that we agree on several points. I don't care if a doc judges that the treatments can't be accomplished in the timeframe given, but that should be cleared long before someone is even close to participate. The current "victim" had even reaced the "spoiler" level, so no doubt, the telly comp has to pay.

She should praise herself lucky she's still her own self and not some plastic mass of post surgical sensory-deprived, non-expressive excuse for a human being.

My reaction was based soley on the article that Chegitz posted. The last time I checked, it didn't contain any references to "legalese" matters. To use that to imply I despise ABC and other big corporations is, to put it politely, a stretch of the imagination.

You've got quite an active one, though, don't you, Flubber?

Time to pick a fight with the rest of the forum:

I have nothing against this kind of show, though I'd rather have plastic surgery covered by medical insurance. I have no idea why would one be against this kind of show. People want to make themselves look better ( wierd fetishists like winston nonwithstanding ) I see nothing wrong with this, esp. if they fixed stuff like dental work, etc.
Shouldn't what's on the inside count as well? yes, it should, but the show doesn't change that to the worst, if anything it changes it to the better, giving her a self confidence boost, and a fresh outlook on life etc.

On topic of the OP, I think this woman should win the court, because they promised something to her, and didn't follow through.

Not really when several posters say that ABC should be burned at the stake or pay big or whatever

Perhaps-- but doesn't what Mrs Tubes posted influence you?? I mean if they put it in writing that there is no guarantee etc , what promise did they break??

It was probably a part of a 947 page agreement which noone would ever read, evil lawyerfolk nonwithstanding. They aired her on national TV, for crying out loud.

I dont recall the fact that the network aired her clips at all. It has been said the whole show was scrapped. The networks have atorneys that work for them. The attornesy arenot the evil guys come on they are paid to do a job that consists of maybe 1000 pages for a peron to read and sign. Whose fault is it if the person doesnt read the paperwork in front of them certianly not the lawyer or the network. Its up to you to read every dam line. When you put ur john hancock on that you have said i have read this, and more importantly i agree to the terms outlined in this document. If you dont then dont freaking sign it. its not rocket science here guys. Were the producer *******s yes.. is the network responsible? only as much as the woman who sigend the contract. Abc might setttle the case but legally they are not responsilbe for the actions of these indviduals that commited suicide.

Ummm yeah and i am still not seeing what you are saying. The op states they aired her selection for the show, not her pics. I have not seen the show nor will i ever. From what i understand it was mentioned, no interviews of her or her family members had hit the air waves.

Maybe it's just me, but when TV is advertising for upcoming events, they usually show pictures - it's kind of a part of TV - so unless that particular series does it different ways of all other stations, I guess that her pic has been on.

Besides, wether her pic has been shown or only her name has been mentioned, I think that the station has committed itself.
