While we're on this oil accusation, let's review history.

What if Rome was still the power?
    Babylonia?
Greece? Ok, let's don't try to stretch it THAT far.

My point is, the oil would be Roman or Baylonian already.

Explain that a bit more, Sloww...

If Rome were still the power, we might well be Roman Citizens.

Well, no, but they did occupy most of Europe, including England, France, and Spain.

Meaning... that three of the major players in the colonization of the Americas... wouldn't have existed.

Well, considering England was abandoned by the Romans, and invaded by the Anglo Saxons (who were not affected by Rome), then invaded by the Vikings, and then the Normans (who were of Viking descent)...

True, but the Spaniards and Portuguese were still run by the Romans. And... we don't even know if the Muslims would have developed like they did...

So... the point remains, we still might be Roman citizens, had the Roman Empire not fallen; and in that case, with Sloww's postulation that the Romans would have the oil, that'd make the point kinda moot, wouldn't it?

Without reading what others posted in the thread, I would say attacking anyone who has nukes loaded onto ballistic missiles is a very bad idea.

China doesnt have to attack them, just turn off the electricity, oil supplies etc. But they wont, cause they dont want hundreds of thousands or even millions of Nkor refugees coming across the border. Which is pretty reasonable, all things considered.

China also likes the leverage the North Korean situation provides them in dealings with the U.S. It's in their best interest to keep this conflict simmering, as long as it doesn't get out of control.

Alberta should pay to give NKorea a CANDU.
