Paris 1919 by Holbrooke? Fromkin is in, Diplomacy is out though, too little positive response here.

Molly, I shall have a look at those ones later on, can't afford to buy them now. Might check if I can find them at some library though

As far as the video lectures are concerned, I won't be able to check them out as long as I haven't fixed some broken-ness of this machine.

I didn't watch the lectures either - started but they were boring. I keep them archived for a rainy day .

          My thoughts exactly

So, is that Paris 1919 by Mr Holbrooke?

Too bad I'm broke now so I can't order any books. The variety of local libraries is good help though

              Future: Tense by Gwynne Dyer.

An insightful analysis of current US foreign policy and the state of Islam in the 21st century, refreshingly free of scholarly pretension.

BTW, Paris 1919 by Margaret MacMillan is the one you want.

              (Holbrooke wrote the forward.)

And don't completely discount personality. Without it, you have predestination.

Predestination as in structural determinism? Maybe not that, but probabilism anyone?
