Shear gross-out factor aside. The real problem with using human body parts commercially is that it devalues human life. This is why organ donation is so heavily regulated in developed countries. Now in this case the life of a prisoner is weighed against the profit made by selling his skin. In a system where people are arrested daily with little to no evidence, or even a reason, knowing that your life is based on profit margins is unsettling. Imagine if supply can't meet demand for the product based on regular executions. This is even more concerning given the attitude toward convicted criminals in China.
