(...)You are showing devotion to what is dead and gone.”
          The Son is co-eternal

They believe that nothing can be taken out from or added to this “book” which is supposed to contain the final truth for all time to come
          Not quite true

All old shastras and many more can be recovered from inside the human heart, where all of them are ultimately enshrined.
Every religion claims the same... Christians have the "human soul is Christian by nature", Muslims believe every person is borned Muslim and similar stuff.

“You have no only saviour, no last prophet. You have no al-kitãb. How, then, do you know who is your one and only true god? How do you distinguish this one and only true god from the many false gods which abound all around you?”
So monotheists do not understand the concept of polytheism, right.

Such a God must always remain external to us, and external to the world in which we live. Such a God does not permit humanhood to grow into Godhood, nor allows this world to get divinised. He has reserved all divinity for himself, and has nothing to spare for his creatures except an abject servitude to his arbitrary commandments conveyed through a saviour or a prophet chosen equally arbitrarily.”
Holy Spirit... Jesus saying we can become as divine as God in the Bible... All gnostic / ascetic, mystic stuff going on through centuries of Christian and Muslim faiths...

At this stage the student of Sanãtana Dharma will have to smile and say
The follower of a closed creed now shoots the last arrow in his armoury with what he believes to be deadly effect. He is sure to shout

“Sanãtana Dharma is not so mean and miserly in deciding human destiny. It gives many lives to every creature. One can start anew from the point where one stopped in one’s previous life. And the process does not cease till a creature has attained perfection and achieved Godhood.
Origenes, a very important and popular (though finally found guilty of heresy long long time after his death) Christian thinker claimed that all that were not saved shall be in one of the next cycles - untill all shall unite with God.
And I think He was not the only one to claim that eventually, all shall be saved.

So assuming the middle ground between a pink unicorn on the other side of the moon or not is senseible?

If I told you London was being overrun by frogs, would you assume that just because you can't see the frogs it doesn't mean they aren't there? No, you'd take a "arrogant/fanatical" position that there were no frogs overruning London.

But you think it's perfectly reasonable to assume there might be a God, just because someone told you there is one, even though there is no evidence whatsoever to support that assertion.

Anyway, I'm hardly an arogant/fanatical *******, at least not when it comes to atheism. I don't care what other people think, as long as they don't try and force me to obey them.

Actually, it followed the ACOL posters to Counterglow. You would have to ask them if it came from another site before ACOL

Unlike the pink unicorn, God is believed to exist by half of the mankind.

Actually, I would take what you said for what it's worth (which in this context is nothing, but let's assume it was) instead of a strict literal interpretation and assume that you meant that the population of frogs has boomed or is on the upswing, and that there are more of them around london than there usually are, or that their numbers are increasing - even if they still aren't visible on every street corner - which is perfectly concievable.

But you think it's perfectly reasonable to assume there might be a God, just because someone told you there is one, even though there is no evidence whatsoever to support that assertion.
As an agonistic, I know there is a god. It's the definition which is open to discussion, and both athiests and religious types are so stuck in rhetoric and so-called 'asbolute truth' that they completely miss the point.

So? Half the people in the world are below average.

                            No.

If you believe that there are fairies at the bottom of the garden, the onus is on you to prove that, and not for me to prove that there aren't.

Pretending that there might be is exactly as Che says - a copout.

Most of the other half believe in some deities as well. And there's no link between intellectual capacities and faith.
