Well, they could have special buses for cat people, etc. As for where the pet would be, how about in people's laps.
I understand the reasoning. I begrugdingly agree with it. It's just one more peice of pain that those people have to suffer when they've lost everything and been through a week of hell. I just feel for them.

Yeah. Bush is once again showing how much of a failure he is by not ordering that at least the pets are being taken care of. What an evil, incompetent and stupid leader. He probably thinks dogs aren't good Christians, or that hamsters aren't Caucasian or something.

Couldn't it just mean that they've only managed to identify 59 bodies, not that they think there've only been 59 deaths?
NPR says the same thing. The official toll so far is 59, even though they know it's in the 1,000s. Apparently two emergency workers have committed suicide because of the stress.
