  • Ahhh, but then we're back to cars, and the ol' "political suicide" argument, which of course is an admission that it is NOT about saving lives at all, else THAT would not even be a thought or concern.

The list of published books grows. If you're curious to see what sort of stories I weave out, head to Amazon.com and do an author search for "Christopher Hartpence." Help support Candle'Bre, a game created by gamers FOR gamers. All proceeds from my published works go directly to the project.

            • To all the "personal freedom" dorks, you do not have a "right" to use the roads. You are awarded a priveledge to use them, contingent on driving as safely as possible, and that priveledge can be revoked.

              • Sava... enough with the personal crap... discuss stuff in a civil manner or don't bother to post. You are about one post away from a restriction.

And to the rest... just ignore him. No need risking yourself in a flame war... because I'll just nail you as well

Hmm if you follow that reasoning we wouldn't do any anti-pillution control because we don't do more stringent controls on motior vehicles.

The reality is that-- politicians have to deal with reality. Some measures that might be more beneficial for our health or the environment don't happen because there is no way the political support is there.

So no matter what the goal-- the goal can be real and legitimate but political considerations always weigh in. There are not enough people supporting limitations on motor vehicles-- So what will happen is their use will be slowly curtailed by normal market forces such as the ones driving the price of oil up
