Of course the Republicans will spend unseamnly amounts of money to fight Hillary, even if they reallt don;t have a chance.

It might not be Pirro anyways, she will have a nasty primary battle.

IIRC, presidential candidates who are also senators lose disproportionally often. Santorum being unsenated in '06 should thus help his chances to become Prez in '08.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

But the reason that Senators don't win the presidency is not that they are sitting Senators at the time of the race, but that they have clear (and often contradictory) records, and can easily be pegged as Washington insiders. Santorum's loss would not free him from his record, it would just embarrass him as a candidate, in that not only will he probably not win his home state, but he will have in fact already lost it.

                    speaking of Pirro...

did you guys see the Daily Show with Jon Stewart?

He showed a clip with Pirro at her news conference... she was about to start a huge rant on Hillary Clinton, but apparantly didn't have the right piece of paper.

                    the clip goes as follows

                    Pirro: Hillary Clinton...
                    (shuffles papers)

                    32 seconds later

Pirro: do you guys have page 10?

To us, it is the BEAST.

Just think. Come 2008, you will have to be looking at that picture everyday on the television set.

Threads like this are the best hope for Santroum.

I remember the absolute certainty most of Apolyton had with the 2004 election. Bush was going down. They knew it, they believed it in their hearts of hearts, that people have finally waken up and come to see the world as they did.

Given Apolyton's track record with predicting elections, Santorum must have smooth sailing ahead of him.

Eh, well if that is the case the people who were sure of Kerry winning were definitely the loudest...
