I'm interested to see what the Hawks do with Thibault. He seems to be the odd man out.

He'll get traded for some third round draft pick, and then the Hawks will sign somebody expensive with the cash

(Or our friendly owner will shove it all in his pocket. One or the other. )

Penguins land Thibault in deal with Chicago

                Jocelyn Thibault

                TSN.ca Staff

                8/10/2005 12:04:54 PM

Spurned by Sean Burke on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Penguins responded by acquiring goaltender Jocelyn Thibault from the Chicago Blackhawks Wednesday in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2006 Entry Draft.

Burke was considering an offer from the Penguins, but signed instead with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Thibault, 30, is a restricted free agent.

He is also a veteran of 536 NHL games with a record of 227-217-68. He is coming off hip surgery that was to fix a problem that cost him 60 games in the 2003-2004 season.

The trade is the third for Thibault. He was part of the package that the Montreal Canadiens received in the Patrick Roy deal in 1995. In 1999, he was traded to Chicago in a deal that brought Jeff Hackett, Eric Weinrich and Alain Nasreddine to Montreal.

Thibault became expendable earlier in the week when the Blackhawks signed free agent goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin.

                        Where are the hooker avatars?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

well, 2nd least amount of fights is Phoenix

                              82GP; 22-36-18-6

after looking over the fight totals, there are playoff teams (from the last season) all over the spectrum

Calgary is 2nd, Toronto is 5th...
