That i do have a problem with. Seems like the new chief has just stated to the media that all the gun play is attributed to guns smuggled up from the states.

I would like to know just how they can prove this.

According to the gun nuts, the whole point of owning firearms is so that an oppressive regime can be overthrown (just like in Saddam's Iraq). In other words, so you can kill people with different political views.

Throughout Europe from the Renaissance through to the 1800's (and up to the 1920's in Italy), the Duel was considered a reasonable, appropriate and acceptable (although often technically illegal and harshly punished if discovered) way for people of import to settle their differences.

            Just trivia.
This is 2005. I don't know any civilised country where duelling is legal today.

Sweet! Come on boys, let's drive drunk up to the Canadian border and empty our guns into Canada.

Flub! Actually, you're quite right...we didn't disagree in any of the text you posted...only in the sentiment that you seem to be in support of gun control, and I'm on the other side of that fence.

And nope...I don't disagree with anything in your earlier posts, except with the conclusion that these reasons are sufficient cause to implement an outright ban or even tighter gun control.

The "nuke" question, oft raised by Ted Stryker....I'd support it NOT being made publically available, of course, and my reasoning FOR that would be that (since Dubya is still Prez...unfortunately...I'll use his vernacular) "nucular" stuff ought to be considered a strategic resource and kept out of the hands of the general public as a matter of policy.

As for the mortar...I'm all for it (even tho I've never seen the need, nor a reason to own one of those either). I think, though, that such ownership should come with strings, already spelled out in our constitution. Owning such weapons should require one to register as part of a "well regulated militia."

And glad you liked the tangent!

in regards to the mortar, isnt that somewhat overkill? the ak-47 leaning against the wall in my basement is enough weapon for me.i dont expect to be going up against anything that needs a mortar what,do you have a tank in your garage also?

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
