I think he makes fair points often(ref Iraq) - he isn't afraid of speaking his mind and asking the uncomfortable questions.
But he has been a bit weird recently - i think his pawnage of the US state commitie(what ever it was) has blown a gasket in his ego or something.
His choice of words in his attacks are getting too much imho, and he should be carefull - he might end up like the late Dr.David Kelly
