  • C&C Generals and Zero Hour are apparently banned in China

Why? I don't see how either game could have portrayed China in a better light.

What about Civ 3? Those horse units rule! (Forgot their name though, more than a year since I played)

        Or Battlefield 2?

I think those units are called riders or something like that.

I don't think they liked the idea of the glorious peoples army fighting alongside the capitalist running dogs.

then they should check out zero hour. the full arc of the story shows that they just used the capitalist running dogs to further their own objectives.

                I revise my opinion.

The REAL reason they banned it is that they don't want their public getting all upiddy about terrorism when there are real threats to worry about like the Death Legionaries of Tiawan.

Nah, the REAL fun thing was :

"to protect intellectual property rights ..."

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

C&C Generals is not entirely flattering with its portrayal of the Chinese military though, making use of such things as the Propaganda Tower and hordes of cheap infantry. It's essentially a caricature of Korean War era strategy with bigger explosions.

It's not as if Chinese gamers buy legit anyway, though.

Eh, it's not like the game was anywhere near as good as Red Alert or Red Alert 2.

China seems to like banning games for stupid reasons. I know the banned Hearts of Iron as well.

I don't know about that, they do get more of the regular infantry, but each one is slightly better sans specials then the other two. and their real manpower advantage comes with the troop crawler and a good mechanized army.

and propaganda towers heal all allied/captured/friendly units as well regardless of the side they are from.
