  • Aussie broadband users: help me

I got my phone bill yesterday and realized I'm paying a ****load for my dialup connection... not for the isp, but for local phone calls. It occurred to me that I'd probably save money if I moved to broadband.

What's the best deal I can get in Australia? I'm in Brisbane. Only problem is that I live in a rented house so I'd have to get permission from the owner.

Check out what adsl deals are around. iiNet, Big Pond and Optus all have competitive adsl deals.

It works out cheaper than dial up, and it's faster.

Pretty much all broadband plans in Australia right there.

With DSL if you have standard Telstra lines you won't need any landlord permission as the only thing that will change is a modem on the end of your phoneline. Of course, a line filter before the actual phone connection may be needed... but isn't strictly necessary.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I'm opting for the $49.95 plan

8Mbits sounds bloody beautiful. Won't get pimply faced 13 year olds on Battle .net calling me a "lagging noob" anymore
