This thing has spread like wildfire... I just did a Google on "benny-tow" and got quite a large number of hits, the vast number post-dating this thread.

Ozzy, you might have started something...

        Sweet

Though I can only claim credit for it if was people who saw this thread and then passed it around. I didn't write it, I just saw it and passed it along, just like everyone else. I don't see many links back to here or to http://www.youthrights.org so I probably can't claim too much credit, except the fact that I found it first.

Being bored, I checked the links. There are a couple of posts made on the same day as you did (at an earlier time), but other than the original I didn't find anything that really showed that this was doing the net-wide X-posting circuit before July 13th.

Well I got it from here: http://www.youthrights.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4335

            He saw it from here:

Who referred to the one here:
            http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/b...?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=017765;p=0

Kuci, at the beginning of the thread went looking, and he found one here on June 21:

            And here from June 18:

When I googled it on the 13th, I only found two other pages with it. So we definitely got in early on in the trend. But now we can just wait for it to get spread around everywhere and have a good laugh when one of our friends sends it to us 3 months later in an e-mail forward.

I got in touch with the guy who wrote the piece (from forum.thoselog.com) and he replied:

Thank you very much! I appreciate the compliment, and I was just made aware of this myself by a couple of friends. I did exactly what you suggested not a week ago and did a Google search. I'm amazed and pleased with my status as a sudden internet rockstar. Thank you again for sending me an email and letting me know.

Ozzy, if you look again, that last link was June 18th, 2004.

                  Quite funny!

But very American-biased. There are 2 American generals but none from the other nations. Where are Rommel, Montgomery and all the Russian generals?

And Stalin is very silent both when he gets pwnd and when he strikes back.

And the cronology is wrong. Hitler attacked Stalin before Japan attacked US, but this guy wrote it the other way around.

That's because this was an RTS game - thngs move fast there, and not neccessarily in a well arranged order
