    ... that is, I put a Diet Pepsi in a pan and filled it [the pan] with liquid nitrogen

    The can developed a crack from the top to the bottom, pretty straight, and started spilling soda into the liquid nitrogen. Interestingly, the soda stayed liquid for a while, making a liquid nitrogen/Diet Pepsi mix. Then it froze into a pepsicle attached to the can.
