There are so many, but I will name a few of my faves.
Liquid Sky: Miniature alien lands on cheapo Manhattan penthouse rooftop to soak up the brain chemicals from orgasms and heroin abuse of the residents. The foul mouthed girl who channels Yoko Ono at a club and wears the sleep shades as a hat is a riot. My favorite scene is where she thinks the Russian scientist who is trying to warn her about the alien on her roof is a narcotics agent.
Up in Smoke: Cheech and Chong's first and funniest movie. Three Stooges minus one eternally looking for some good weed. Cheap, but funny. It skewered the punk scene pretty well too.
Dead Babies (UK)/Mood Swingers (USA): based on Martin Amis' second novel about a clash of American and British youth cultures is original and has a mean streak a mile wide and very nasty sense of humor. My only complaint is they left out Keith's torturing of his neighbors.
2001: A Space Odyssey: This is technically not a drug movie, but the tagline was "The Ultimate Trip." Coming out at the height of the psychedelia phenomenon, it's pretty obvious what the reference is about. This film is a classic and is one of two or three films that I know of that actually lets space be silent.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: Only Terry Gilliam and Johnny Depp could bring the insanity that was Hunter S. Thompson and his Samoan attorney to the screen. It was a little slow and creaky in spots, but for the most part I think they captured the spirit, humor and the insanity of the book.
