  • Computer Help - displaying MPA thumbnails

I just downloaded this cool video clip of a Japanese Robot Reciptionist (see the OT robot thread). I cannot get a picture to display in the thumbnail, just the stupid Microsoft generic video file display. All my other video types display a thumbnail properly. How to I get it to display, I tried to Google it and had zero luck. I am using Windows XP home edition on this computer.

Kuci, did you ever once, just once try to post something relevant instead of being not funny?

It shows up properly for me
If I right-click on it I get the option to "refresh thumbnail", in case that's any help.

I using WinXP SP1. I don't get the option "refresh thumbnail" anywhere.

                What codec does it use?

Thank you Asher - I was wondering about that. How does one reset the codec used to display the thumbnail? I just checked and currently I am using Window Media Player 10.00.00.3646 as the default to open the files, as in if I double click that opens them. I know generally how to cut and paste edit the file-type extensions, in this case &Open and &Play (DDE enabled) is executed by "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /prefetch:9 /Open "%L" I have noticed that the L appears to be a variable, and I have tried altering that alone to letters used by other video files. No luck. I have absolutely no idea if that is how the program used to derive the thumb graphic is selected. The files (they are some kind of mpeg) play just fine.
