If I had to choose between the devastated future of Skynet versus the decimation of The Matrix, I'd probably go with Skynet. At least there you know the blasted ruins around you are the real deal.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Well Skynet is a computer bent on domination of the world. In Matrix machines wants to dominate the world. The means they use just happened to be different and in a way humans caused the virtual world of Matrix to be set up, indirectly, when they used nuclear weapons in hopes to deny the machines their source of energy.

Yeah I know. What I meant is that it would be a problem if skynet and the matrix were combined in reality.

Which means they will fight each other to the death

I think i would prefer a Skynet type future to a Matrix type one. Atleast i wound know what my enemy was as i try to bash its metalic brains out with a rock

In a matrix scenario - you might never know the peril your in(as a human).

But apparantly the matrix scenario is the more likely to happen according to some other thread i posted in. Our reality has a high chance of being a matrix type reality.

Except in reality the machines would have no use for us whatsoever...we are not an effective source of energy I am afraid...

I mean about our reality being more a simulation than real, i agree there are better food stuffs than humans.
I cant remember what thread it was, but one of the uk top scientists had worked out there was a good likely hood of us being in a simulation already. I think after like 30 years of looking at science he had a hypothisis that this was a probability, taking into account all that quatum theory and other disciplines had discovered.

no one has any links for freaky stuff?

I dont like all this nano-stuff, i think there is a high chance of something really nasty running amok.

After all the machine of the future will need information on us, and creating a database for it to use might help it

Why would a computer try to eradicate us just because it became self-aware? Are judgement and self-awareness the same, or does self-awareness require judgement? I don't think so. How is this super-brain going to acquire its priority list of values?
