Powell would cut it just fine (hell, he'd be so much better than Bush it's painful to consider), but he's got more sense and wouldn't pass muster with the Republikan Reight.Originally posted by Lancer
"KH is right, Powel and Rice don't cut it."
You sure you're not just saying that because you're lefties and don't have an electable black candidate with name recognition?
Rice is nothing impressive that I've seen so far - an academic and ideologue, and that's about it.When all else fails, blame brown people. | Hire a teen, while they still know it all. | Trump-Palin 2016. "You're fired." "I quit."

Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice would be unlikely to win the Presidency because they are pro-choice Republicans, and it is unlikely a pro-choice Republican would be able to secure the GOP nomination.
Obama right now would be the strongest Presidential candidate as he is the only black to hold office statewide. He isn't a moderate, and he isn't from a Swing State, but he is very charismatic.
The Republicans do have some politicans who could possibly run for President down the line. Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell has considered running for govenor, were he to secure that post he would be in a good position to run for the Presidency. Lt. Gov Michael Steele of Maryland will be looking to either be a Governor or Senator someday, were he to achieve that he would also be in an excellent position to pursue the Presidency."I'm moving to the Left" - Lancer

When did Illinois become a southern state?Originally posted by Japher
Some Senator from some southern state who is supposidly a middle of the road candidate, and has been on the cover of Newsweek and other magazines... He has a nice smile
There's also Harold Ford Jr., congressman from Tennessee. Maybe Senator if he captures Frist's seat in 2006. Southern and socially moderate/fiscally conservative.Tutto nel mondo è burla

Not going to happen, since the GOP is reeling in Ohio thanks to Coingate and Bush's sagging approval ratings. Blackwell's ties to Noe are going to hurt him a lot. Well, it's going to hurt all the Republicans.Originally posted by Shi Huangdi
