Sexual orientation has no such detrimental effects.

So why is there a campaign to decriminalize drug use? Doesn't that mean there are people arguing that drugs can be used responsibly with no more ill effects than alcohol use? That drug abuse is a choice, and society should find non-criminalized ways of dealing with it? I disagree with that ideology, and I disagree with the ideology of homosexual activism.
People are always wanting their vices to be condoned, either by the law or in the breach. People are easily deluded about their own vices "not hurting anybody." The child molesters who reported their "observations" to Kinsey were convinced the children were enjoying sexual gratification; clearly their perception was skewed.
There are researchers outside the gay lifestyle and people formerly in the gay lifestyle who are convinced that homosexual practice is not a matter of genetic predisposition. They are convinced it is a matter of conditioning and is harmful to the psychological weal of those who practice it.
It doesn't matter how many justices force the matter from the bench and activists force the matter by acclamation, outside the democratic and scientific processes of deliberation and discovery. Yes, that includes the APA and like organizations that clearly responded to political correctness rather than actual studies of homosexual patients.
