    What a good day for a thread like this.

    It's the bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar (queue "Rule Britannia").

      NOnononooo, today is the battle of blue versus red...not France against England.

      Paris = greatest city on earth. 'Nuff said!

            Bardot, Bordeaux, Champagne, cheese and Orangina, what more could we want?

                Meh, Champagne..overrated and expensive bollocks.

                I'd rather have a similar priced (regular) wine.

                It also has Spiffor and Davout.

                  Sorry that I cannot contribute to this happy world here, but I think I am allowed to post (unless this is a club-thread... is it one? )

                  French cars
                  I just had to pay €400 for service and repairs.. there would still be some €700 more that are needed open repairs...

                  Anyway:
                  Spiffor
                  French girls
                  French fries (or Pommes frites)

                      paris is just downright grey - grey buildings, grey river, grey weather, grey people. its not somewhere to go for more then a week. everyone who says its fun doesnt speak french, or else you would hear all the frenchies cursing at you as you order a 'craaaaayyyype' from a streetside vendor, or a 'cafay o lay' from a restaurant.

                                Nelson would puke his guts out over that PC nonsense. If anything, France ought to be glad of being rid of old Boney.

                                Three cheers for Lord Nelson... Huzzay! Huzzay! Huzzay!

                                "Come, cheer up, my lads, 'tis to glory we steer,
                                To add something more to this wonderful year;
                                To honour we call you, not press you like slaves,
                                For who are as free as the sons of the waves?

                                Hearts of oak are our ships, jolly tars are our men,
                                we always are ready; Steady, boys, steady!
                                We'll fight and we'll conquer again and again.

                                We ne'er see our foes but we wish them to stay,
                                They never see us but they wish us away;
                                If they run, why we follow, and run them ashore,
                                And if they won't fight us, we cannot do more.

                                Hearts of oak are our ships, jolly tars are our men,
                                we always are ready; Steady, boys, steady!
                                We'll fight and we'll conquer again and again.

                                Still Britain shall triumph, her ships plough the sea,
                                Her standard be justice, her watchword "Be free,"
                                Then cheer up, my lads, with our hearts let us sing,
                                Our soldiers, our sailors, our statesmen, and King.

                                Hearts of oak are our ships, jolly tars are our men,
                                we always are ready; Steady, boys, steady!
                                We'll fight and we'll conquer again and again."
