  • Why do I want to be a security guy?

It will be on the test I have to take next Thursday. I assume there's a right and wrong way to answer it. Problem is, I'm psyching myself out trying to figure it out.

So, what's the best way to answer?

    Here are my actual reasons.

    1) So I don't have to wear womens clothing any more.

    2) More $. Instead of $7.25 an hour I'll be getting between $10 and $11/hr depending on my shift.

    3) It's actually safer than driving around alone at 2 AM and picking up bunches of drunks at dive bars and bringing them to the casino. If a bad thing happens in security the odds are on our side and cameras capture the whole thing. Evidence...

    4) Good bunch of guys doing a serious job. The valet/driver gig is poorly run, full of kids ****ing off, and devoid of decent management. On the other hand I get along with all the security guys who are mature and get the job done. I just like em all.

    5) If I stay for a year and a half, make a good impression, never sick, never late, always available to work when needed on my time off, I hope to create a situation that I can always come back to. Since I go to the Phils during the slow winter months I find myself looking for work alot when I return. I want a situation I can just step into.

    6) Benefits are better and start quicker. Instead of 6 months it takes 2 in the security job. So, Dolores and I have less time with no coverage, though I have the VA.

So, what reasons would make the best impression iyo? What would you list?

2 and 6 are the best. Honest and believable. 1 is good because its humorous. But list reasons where your personality makes you feel that you would be happy and successful at this career. Such as: I enjoy exerting authority over strangers, I sleep more than a cat, and owning a gun makes me feel like a big man.

che, in my experience commies make the most evil of guards. Shootings families that just want to 'go west' a specialty.

All guards are thugs. The process of being a guard makes you evil.

Yes Laz, good point, but on the other hand it's slightly more exciting than the valet/driver gig I'm doing now.
