I went to the reception desk thing to get an ice pack...they went up in a cupboard and gave me this plastic bag icepack thing that was room temperature. I looked at her kind of weird...she smiled and said "it's a magic icepack". It's one of those ones where it's two compartments inside the bag, and when you squeeze the top one down so it bursts into the bottom pouch, it instantly becomes ice cold. Was very cool. Literally, also.
I am easily impressed.
A little endothermic chemistry had you in awe? Remind me never to throw a lump of sodium into water near you if I value the integrity of my pants.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Soccer If it was football your injury would likely be much more thread worthy.
Soccer is better exercise. Football is for fat Americans.

The BF is a chemical engineer so I get to see all kinds of neat stuff.
Though this fuel cell business he's doing now is so
Needs more whizz-bang.

that's a bit peculiar... I don't know how socc..football is played in those distant lands over there, but isn't it pretty common to get injured from time to time while playing the game?
I can barely count the number of scars on my legs caused by other players, concrete floors, etc...!! (then again i'm not a math wonder).
maybe it's indoor football? I could imagine because no physical contact is allowed there

Hey!! I was impressed too when I read it.

The Information Directorate (i.e., the nerds) came out far in the lead, with the most frequently reported injuries being things like "falling off of a chair" and "walking into a door."
Shows what these statistic gathers know. These injuries were incurred during clinical experiments on "gravity verification" and "the bi-matter, uni-location impossiblity theory."

Yeah, I'd say. If you don't get a few scratches in a game you aren't playing it right.
