I found it curious because Oerdin was telling me how much better the American car companies are getting with quality, but clearly that's not a priority for them. Not even if it's something insanely dangerous and well-known to them.
Clearly, you don't know what you're talking about. You take one recall which isn't even exception in any way then you try to extrapolate out based upon it. As usual you screw it up. There are a **** load of recalls of every make and model but satistically US cars (especially GM cars) are among the highest quality on Earth. This is proved by numerous independent quality studies.
Please continue to claim that a boy from Ontario knows more then thousands of people who study this day in and day out for a living. I wouldn't want to stop you.
1) I'm not taking issue with "one recall", I'm taking issue with a clear lack of concern of Quality and Safety on Ford's behalf. Have you even read the article?
2) Don't you dare say I'm from Ontario again. Oh, I need to go take a shower...
It's amazing to see the hoops you jump through to justify this though. The article speaks for itself.
Ford admits the part causes fires, and it's always powered on -- even if the car is off.
They knew about this as early as 1999 but shipped it in new cars til as late as 2003.
They still have only recalled a handful of the vehicles that contain the faulty part.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "
When I was in the rental industry our biggest problem with Ford vehicles was defective gas gauges. Wasn't a "safety" issue so they never recalled the models affected, but worse, they continued to use the same defective parts model year after model year....

And I thought Asher would defend the quality of Ford. Can anyone tell me what made me think that?
"The world is too small in Vorarlberg". Austrian ex-vice-chancellor Hubert Gorbach in a letter to Alistar [sic] Darling, looking for a job...
"Let me break this down for you, fresh from algebra II. A 95% chance to win 5 times means a (95*5) chance to win = 475% chance to win." Wiglaf, Court jester or hayseed, you judge.
Of course the best car acronyms are for IROC. Not too PC, though.

There were millions of cars built but over the last decade a grand total of two (if I read the article right) actually broke and caused a fire. Ford is recalling millions of cars due to those two cases. This isn't a big deal no matter how much you try to turn it into one.
