  • The documentary "Why we fight"...

    ... by Eugene Jarecki.

Has there been a thread here already about it? If yes, could you please link to it?

    Thanks!

    Erm, did you try searching?

Erm, have you ever noticed that subject head-lines often do not reveal what the threads are about?

Or does the search feature really scan every Apolyton post (and not just head-lines)?

Erm, if you use specific keywords and limit your search to the active OT (archived threads really don't count since they're archived) then the search function can actually be functional. It isn't always so bug-ridden...

Anyway, since it's been a day and a half with no other responses, we can probably go ahead and begin your discussion.

I have not heard of "Why we fight"

I used to watch that show back in the early 1990's. It was originally done in the early 1940's as a propoganda piece against the Axis.

The Why We Fight series can be purchased from International Historical Films, I've gotten a couple of them myself. Here's a link:

EDIT: I just did a Google search and Eugene Jarecki's Why We Fight apparently has nothing to do with Frank Capra's WW2 series:
              http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documen...we-fight.shtml
It appears to be a documentary about US post-WW2 militarism.

Of course it has nothing to do with it...

It sheds some very interesting light on the connection between US foreign policy (past and current) and the US military/defense industries... Can you spell b-i-g b-u-c-k-s?

It's far better than Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11... The strength of it is that the facts come from people who have been involved in this dirty business...

I saw it on danish TV... Well worth two hours of your time!
