Too wannabe-Southern for a northern city really.

One disgusting Morrisons to serve the whole of the city centre for food.

    Too expensive.

    Too hilly to bike around.

And now it's too Lib Dem.

I wouldn't move back in with my folks unless the situation were very dire. If you move back home, why not just get an apartment?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

"why not just get an apartment?"

Part of the reason I am considering moving is that around 35% of my after tax earnings go on rent.

That's life...a similar proportion of mine goes on rent too...

I find the disdain people from the North have for the South highly amusing. Mainly cos people from the South don't give a **** about any divide. You say "I'm from the North" around here and they think you mean north of the Thames.

All the highest paying jobs are going to be in cities where it will cost you a lot to live in. That's just the way it works.

Probably Dauphin that's because we're agreeable people and those southerners we know tend to be a bit ditzy and mouthy.
