It's not attention seeking. Why is it that you think that Bush politicickin is anything new? Its what they all do. It kills me when someone seeking attention makes a thread like this. It's a simple bash Bush thread and that's all it ever was going to be.

So your ok with being lied to as long as its not done by Bush?

OH and another reason you see his smug face on TV a lot is that he is the President of The United States and the media has an entire corp of reporters following him. They have to have something to fill up their 24 hours of news. So if you don't want to see him turn off the damn TV more or watch another station. That's what I did. The reason you notice it is that you hate him. If you liked the man in office then his politickin would bother you so much. Hell, you wouldn't even consider it politickin.

Well, I guess you're right, George Lucas did pattern some of his Darth Vader/Emperor characters on Bush, assuming you agree with the left's or Buchanan's distortions of Bush's foreign policy.
You do realize that the story was written in the 1970's long before there was a Bush to pattern, right?

The PT wasn't written in the 70's. Lucus finished the last script about two years ago.

Yes it was. All of the stories were written in the 70's. That's different from the final script.

Lucus used what he had for the first three. The PT is backstory. Sure he used some ideas from the early days but the story of the PT was not written in the 70s

Actually, I only want to bring attention to the issue. With the exception of the power of the dark side JOKE, I did not say anything to indicate that I hate him. In fact, I'm complementing him on his ability to get what he wants.

I thought that his inability to be a smooth talker and sometimes dumb looking was taken as a proof that he didn't have a brain and was a blatant liar. What have I missed ?
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I've always maintained that Bush was extremely smart. There's not one post that I've made that refers to him as dumb.

I think the idea of a "permanent campaign" has been increasing in relevance for a long time... Bush or no Bush. The amount of travel the President does within the country has been more or less on the increase for many decades... aided by advances in communications technology no doubt.

I don't fault Bush for cynically using the media, and his colloquial/unsophisticated idiom, to his advantage. That's the game of the politician, and its to the fault of the people who are led on by it. A democratic politician is really only going to be as dumb, or intelligent, as the people want him/her to be.

This is 21st Century democracy, American style. If you don't like it, don't vote for it.

I think the most important thing the bu****es are doing is message discipline. Anyone who actually knows anything tells only the canned party line, and they are constantly out there regurgitating it. They are ALWAYS 'on message' in a disciplined way.
