  • Tricky ways to screw off playing games at work?

There's periods of several hours where I have nothing to do but wait for a call that rarely comes. This has given me time to think of ways I might be gaming. A palm pilot has crossed my mind, but can you play Civ on them? It has to be fairly small, able to fit in a pocket...perhaps a raincoat sized pocket would work.

    Suggestions?

I remember someone on about some kind of handheld thing where you can play civ, although I don't know which one it is.

Personally, the chance to have hours free at work would be a fine thing...the work never ends at the moment

I bought a palm pilot to play at work also. I even found a Civ type program to play on it from downloads.com, however, you could only build one unit (a settler) and there was no AI.

I now have a laptop capable of running Civ IV when it comes out. All I got to do now is find a way to bring it to work so no one knows I brought it...

Windows Mobile/PocketPC devices can run this:

That doesn't sound too bad PH, I'm bored to distraction. Distraction is what this thread is about.

I was thinking about a small laptop, though I'd really be pushing my luck.

Asher, that looks really cool. Can I try it out on my regular comp?

            Whats that?

                  try this
I've used the pocket nes, in the past, on an Ipaq....can't recal the model. had a directional pad and two buttons that were mapped to the A and B buttons, so was a pretty good mockup.

Just rearrange your desk so you are facing towards any people who might come to you instead of facing away from them

asleep, that will allow me to play 'Pocket Humanity" on my PC?

UR, that's a great plan. Got a plan for getting them to give me a desk?

You don't have a desk? Okay, back to the drawing board.

Most casinos have a hotel portion. Try this, stand under the windows of the hotel and serenade the guests. They will begin throwing things out the window to silence you. Maybe one of the things they throw will be a desk. It's worth a try.
