At any rate, the Christian god, as characterised by orthodox Christian doctrines, is inconsistent. That's before we start with the Problem of Evil.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

An argument may be valid (internally consistent) but not necessarily sound, and soundness has everything to do with state of the world.
Not necessarily. The premises could themselves be analytic truths. For example:
All bachelors and widowers are human beings
All unmarried men are bachelors or widowers
Thus, all unmarried men are human beings.
Sure, it's a trivial argument, but it's sound and all the premises are conceptual truths.
The problem of evil doesn't work UR. It requires us to assume that what we believe to be evil is in fact evil in the eyes of the deity, and we simply have no reason to make that assumption.Only feebs vote.

The christian faith is not logical.
Afterlife / omniscience / omnipresence / eternity are ilogical terms that one can believe in but aren't supported by reasoning, science or logic.
There's one problem though which is the first cause.
There's no logical explanation for the first cause as well. Eventhough there must be a first cause, logically spoken.
Therefor logic and reasoning are ilogic in the end as well. In fact: logic only works 'in-universe' to speak in star wars terms (saw ep3 yesterday )
As soon as we talk about stuff outside our universe our logic does not apply.
Hell is indeed seperation from God and thus from good.
Though it's not as if we have to chose for or against God during this life to become eternal seperated from God or not.
In fact we already have made that chose. We have chosen against God. Therefor in fact hell is indeed the only option for us.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

How is that illogical?
Well, then would you be posing Satan as the creator of the universe? If we are having a non-atheistic system with this universe being created, there are pleasures in this world, there is happiness that exists. If Satan created the Universe, why would he bother allow for the possibility of such things? He could just throw us into Hell right away.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth
