Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

It's no good (from an evolutionary point of view) to have the physique of Tarzan if you have the sex drive of a philosopher. -- Michael Ruse

I want have a plan too! But this "Everyone should have a plan" talk is just hypocrisy. The poor oppressed people never get their own plans, it is all just for the rich!

I've always believed if OBL hadn't gone into terrorism he would have gone into advertising.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

There was a poster at a Berkeley bus stop that used to say "Terrorism gives us a choice: we can be afraid, or we can be ready." Within a week, it had been changed to "Terrorism gives us a choice: we can be afraid, or we can stop ****ing the world."

Actually... he's not really helping the ad business... at least from a monatary basis...

Ads from the Ad Council are developed pro bono by ad agencies, and the media space is donated by the media companies... Just the advertising/media industry performing a public service

I remember soon after 9/11, airlines and hotels showed advertisements urging people to stop showing fear to terrorists by shelling out money for airline tickets and hotel rooms.

Talk about tasteless, cold-hearted exploitation of the loss of 2,000+ lives for the sake of recovering business profits.

So, Ming, what is the insider line on those "The Truth" commercials? Do they really work to stop kids from smoking, or are they subconsciously encouraging kids to get their older brothers to buy them cigarettes?

It is being done with the best intentions... just like the anti drug and anti underage drinking efforts.

Actually, they are exceedingly successful, which is why it was such a travesty when the State of Florida decided to stop making them and spend the money on other stuff instead.
