"Music purists might not be too happy at the prospect of the "Crazy Frog" outselling Coldplay, but it shouldn't come as that much of a surprise when you consider its huge novelty appeal and the massive amount of exposure it is currently getting," said Castaldo.

Who are these "music purists" who approve of Coldplay even existing?

Funny story. Couldn't happen to a blander band.

      Generic "rock"

Its what I listen to in my 4-door import sedan while driving to Starbucks to meet with my generic sweatered friends over a latte .

          Coldplay are dull as buggery...

We can't hold a candle to Greek buggery...it's your national pastime

Although so much of our stuff seems to be utterly dull and have no energy. I of course refer to the likes of Coldplay, Travis, Keane et al...

I was surprised when I went to Greece and found a couple guys who weren't gay.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

                      They were probably in denial

I wasn't saying that all British music was crap, just that some of the more prominent bands are boring. May I also add Radiohead...their newer stuff is just overindulgent bollocks...

i'd say and i may be wrong since i dont follow the UK top 40 (or any "top" music list) that what is in the UK Top 40 is more mellow than before these days.

Nor do I to be fair but I do listen to the radio, but it is a more 'alternative' radio station so I don't know whether the songs I hear which are alright have any kind of chart success...

Every pop music scene is pretty crap at the moment, not just the UK. If you actually listen to something more acclaimed/underground/new/interesting/generally better, then it's not so dire.

But yes, the frog is bad.
