I would ask her in English but she barely understands English.

You think this is funny?
When my dad was at sea they did the beef runs between Britain and Argentina. He learned Spanish, as did many of the other sailors (primarily to ask out girls).
There was one guy who was real dumb and just wanted to know what to say to women.
They gave him this (from a phrasebook).
¿usted tienen gusto de las castañas?
I think it means "Do you like chestnuts?"
The poor guy managed to alienate most of the young women in Buenos Aires.Only feebs vote.

The grammar of that sentence is off.
"Le gustan a usted las castanas" or "A Usted le gustan ..."
Anyways, probably castanas have some sort of sexual connotation (though not being an Argentine, I am not sure).
You could teach some poor kid to say "Do you like balls" when meeting women if they did not speak english. If you don't like reality, change it! me

Well even if it did get somewhere, you're going to have a whole load of troubles communicating. Why can't you just go for someone you can converse with?..If you look around and think everyone else is an *******, you're the *******.
