  • An interesting quote from Hitler

"Since the Civil War, in which the Southern States were conquered, against all historical logic and sound sense, the American people have been in a condition of political and popular decay . . . . The beginnings of a great new social order based on the principle of slavery and inequality were destroyed by that war, and with them also the embryo of a future truly great America." ***END QUOTE

Ok, I have never known about this quote from Adolf Hitler before. Does anyone have any knowledge of this particular quote? Such as--when did he state this? And in what context did he state this--in the years when he was still grabbing power, or in the midst of World War II?

    When I first read this quote, I found it somewhat disturbing . . . . . .

probably in his unpublished unedited 'sequal' to mein kampf in which he blathers extensively about the US and many other topics he was equally ignorant of.

So then where did you get information about this unpublished, uneditted work, Geronimo?

Can you cite any source about this particular work?

that might be it. I was reading an article about that (maybe it was posted here). He has a lot of talk about the U.S. in it.

what part of unpublished didn't you get.

It wasn't published. In fact, there is still some dispute over the authenticity of it. I believe only the egghead scientists have access to it right now.

Oh I can cite the source from where I got the quote, but my source does not tell me the historical context in which Hitler stated the quote in the OP. Here is the source from which I got the quote:

A New Birth of Freedom: Abraham Lincoln and the Coming of the Civil War
                              by Harry V. Jaffa

You know how some historians provide a sampling of quotes from various people right on the first page of each chapter? Well, this quote from Adolf Hitler is used on the first page of Chapter 2 of the above book I cited.

But there is no date provided by Jaff as to when Hitler stated the quote in the OP.
