Help! DVD player won't work

Damn thing doesn't work and I can't figure out what is wrong since everything is in Korean.

Everything is on and the cables go from the DVD player to the cable box and from the cable box to the TV and cable TV is working fine but I can't get the menu to appear no matter which channel I flip through, any idea what I'm doing wrong?
