my brother gave me all these free tunes for itunes (from a pepsi promotion), I went and downloaded them. They appear to be in a m4p format. What the hell is that? How do I get those in a format something like winamp or musicmatch can read? Can I put those on a CD (in WAV/normal CD format) so I can listen to it in my vehicle?

it's a very easy site to browse, and I like the previews they give of the songs. I was thinking of buying system of a down's new album through it. But I won't buy it if I can't record it on a format I can use.

m4p/m4a is itune's protected media format. good luck. outside of authorizing your itunes player...

a more permanent solution is to burn it to a cd, eraze itunes, and install winamp.
