I can't believe they've decided on a release date. They must be very confident it'll be out by then. It's also somewhat odd I'm finding out about it on Apolyton
AFAIK they are going to use BitTorrent to release it in episodical form for free on a weekly basis. Hmm, but of course you could DL the DVD version once someone rips it, and see it all ahead of time.Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Actually, the last time I checked the plan it was (Finnish) one fifteen-minute part every two weeks or so, with BitTorrent provided as an alternative means of download for those who already have installed it. (Finnish) They've put everything on the website under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.0 license... but that doesn't mean that the content of the DVD is under that license. No, they did not rip the images off. Not that I'm an expert on identifying scenes from science fiction series, but as far as I know, all the 3d work in all of the movies is original. Non-profit, and all those nifty models are made by them.
DVD's are.. hum, how do you say... Eh, the pressing and packaging cost's 20€, and the finished film costs 20€ to me, the "customer".
And there's that creative commons lisence bit, which propably could explain a bit, if I spoke legalese...

And I'm in no way associated with them, except that I bought a T-shirt with the Pirkinnian Empire's Raven in it, and am perched vehemently in the pre-order list for the DVD...
