I use mplayer ( the command-line version ) on Windows XP , and the same on Linux , whenever I want to just play a song . I've found it is much more convenient to use AmaroK if you want the sort of functionality that iTunes , Winamp , or other such media players give you . ( AmaroK on KDE on Cygwin on Windows XP is what I'd recommend , if you **** to use it with Windows , or AmaroK with KDE for Linux ) .
