I don't watch much of Adult Swim's original stuff, but I could definitely respect Sealab 2021's ridiculousness.
WHR is awesome, definitely one of my favorite series. Shame that it didn't seem to play quite as well in the States as I thought it would.Originally posted by Theben

Qilue: It's a block of programming that the Cartoon Network does at night. They have their own demented unique shows, and generally top it off with some anime later on. Lately it's done very well for itself with Futurama & The Family Guy in the 11:00 slots, old FOX cartoons which were canceled before their time and were beating out the networks in ratings. Really.
I will say that I think anime distributors have dropped the ball at some point. Anime is growing less and less a part of Adult Swim (it was near all they had when it first launched four years ago or so, what with Cowboy Bebop
, and the window to really take it more mass market is fading a bit. The anime distributors here in the States like to keep things entirely too expensive; sure, the hardcore are not price-sensitive, but the vast majority of people are. Releasing a mere 3 episodes per DVD is not a good way to increase market share. (Then again, from what I understand, manga sales have absolutely exploded among the middle school girl crowd over the past 3 year or so, so I might be totally off.)
