  • Can your laptop do this?

I'd like to see a PowerBook survive that.

I'll have to try that with my laptop. Threw it at somebody, quite forcefully, and it didn't seem to suffer at all. Not tried putting it under a truck yet though.

Man, the guy leaving his laptop behind a wheel of his truck, that can't be real... What a moron! Thinkpads sure are more rugged than most laptops on the market, except the really rugged ones, like those Panasonic waterproof "toughbooks" that are built like tanks. I still think that buying a Thinkpad is, for most people, throwing money away.

One of the women at work did that once too (drive over the laptop).

She had to get the screen replaced (the LCD was cracked), but otherwise it worked (even the keyboard).

            Only 3 years?

            IBM offers 5.

And check the CompleteCare fine print. I guarantee you it doesn't include protection against things like fire.

my powerbook survived a fire. i live on the fifth floor and there was a fire, i barely had time to throw it out the window before saving myself. in the chaos, it got soaked in water from the firehoses and run over by a 2 ton fire truck, you know, the extra long ones with the dude in the back who also drives?

anyways, i booted it up a few days later, and it worked like a charm. nothing wrong with it at all.

although all the gay porn was gone tho.

You would fit right in with Apple's marketing department.

All you gotta do now is claim your PowerBook is 100x faster than any other laptop, ever.

which it is. i grab my laptop, put it under my arm, and finish the race 100 times faster then the out of shape fat-ass chain smoking - twinkie eating -coke guzzling IT tech from IBM or any other tech firm.

When I was at the dentist with my powerbook, a stampede of wilderbeest had escaped from the local zoo and were charging into the dental surgery. I quickly programmed the powerbook to shoot lasers out to kill the charging beasts, but then I dropped it into a large vat of mouthwash, and the laser stopped working. Luckily I was able to knock the last three of them unconscious with the powerbook, and then was still able to connect to the internet to email the zoo and the police.
