Four-letter words

Here's a little game to pass the time. The object is to name countries, states, cities etc. with four letters in them.

I suggest a couple of rules:

* For cities, post only names of those that are outside of your own country

* Preferably add a short description of your own choice of the country/state/city you're naming

* Allow 3 other posters to post inbetween your own entries

I'll go first,

Rome - capital city of Italy

Lima - capital city of Peru <- rare instance of both being four-lettered

Peru - has Lima as capital city. (country in South America)

Oder - river in East Germany
