Hippos are pretty aggressive, but if this is a dry arena it's going to get very tired very quickly. Hippos have a lot of trouble without taking advantage of buoyancy.

You might be able to run one down (i.e. do some bullfighting on it)

It's a conspiracy. In reality, they don't want us to know anything about them. There's a mosquito base in Siberia and they kill anyone who gets near it.
