For example, there is great wisdom in the Sermon on the Mount. We should not ignore it merely because it was uttered by a religious figure and not by Plato or Spinoza.

Is comparative religion class all that common in high school? And the Sermon on the Mount is not great philosophy. I could see teaching St. Augistine or Aquinas, but not Jeshua ben Joseph.
