    • Well, I am planning on playing civ from friday night through to sunday night. I will have to leave to stay at the pub late on saturday night, but I will be back before midday on sunday.

You guys are more than welcome to come round during any of that time, you are also welcome to stay at my place on the saturday night when Im not there. I dont mind if you want to stay for the weekend, as all I am going to be doing is playing civ anyway, and its more fun in company.

Rich, do you have a wireless card?

I will text Gibsie tonight when I get some battery in my phone.

So its up to you guys. We can organize this around whatever other plans you had for the weekend

      • (this is essentially an open invite to the guys I have met from here, even the dodgy foreign ones)

          • fair enough. as long as you have a network card we should be laughing. if its between the two of us then we dont even need a router, but I dont know how we would work it with 3 or more without having a hub, I dont know if Ica n have two network cards coming out the back of my computer

            • Get one! Then imagine the mad fun we could have!

Well I'm free this weekend although I wanna go see fireworks too (I'm a kid, what can I say). Civ wins though, of course.

              • I wonder if I can use my network card to connect to Rich and a wireless card to connect to Gibsie at the same time. I will see what my friend has left over from our old lan+ cables and see about borrowing the rest from pc world (I think they do a free ten day loan scheme or something )

Any chance of Dauphin turning up?

                • I can lend you my hub and wires, Rich can pick them up if he's driving.

I am yet to decide if I can spare my time though.

                    • I will have a look out for local fireworks displays, the oatlands school has a display every year and I will check when night it is on this year.

                          • I've tried twice, and failed twice before to meet up with some of the uk based polytubbies - so this is my third attempt.

Room for another bringing drink? I'll probably only make the sunday afternoon bit, depending on stuff. I'm keen to see Civ4 in action and can bring copies of the origonal+Civ2 if it all goes horribly wrong

                            EDIT:

                            • for sure Normally I wouldnt be too happy to have someone Ive not met come round my house, but Ive chatted to you for long enough now, and if DrSpike was happy to invite you round his place before then thats good enough for me

technically my gfs work laptop should be able to run civ 4 so I might even have a computer for you for some MP fun

I dont know what the other guys plans are with regards to sunday yet, but you are more than welcome

                              • I didnt make it to Dr.spikes sadly.........and if you wont laugh at me too much i'll bring my GBA(got Fire emblem to play). Dont want to mess up your gf's work pc - + i'll be perfectly happy watching you guys try out Civ4. Depending on my gf, well it might not be a huge visit - just a couple of hrs, a few beers+some civ. pm me where we are meeting up+what time is good for you on the sunday(this is in london right? - i only just noticed the thread so havent been following closely).

Edit: ah the flaw in the cunning plan - your not in london are you - this is an 'up north' civ session? i just skimmed the page and saw you mention london(as in coming to). I wont be able to make it then
