  • Does your wife or gf dress you?

Not day to day, but for important stuff. Like today we're going to her friend's house where we will be observing the two year death aniversary of the friend's husband.

Mine does dress me, and I just follow meekly along putting on whatever makes her happy. I wonder is this common?

Day to day though I'm just a top of the pile guy. I grab what's on top of each pile and that's what I wear. Dolores keeps everything clean, folded and ironed so it's an orderly pile, but I never think, does this go with that? So I think she does the choosing on important days because she knows I'm hopeless.

              You guys are misunderstanding.

She's not TELLING him what to wear, he is asking her to help him pick out the clothes because he doesn't know what to put on.

She buys my clothes, knowing I like cotton shirts and jeans. Why bother myself with a chore I don't like?

I also have no problem asking her opinion on suit purchases - she has a good eye, and I'd be a fool not to take advantage of that.

The idea of being emasculated because you asked your SO their opinion is quite bizarre to me, I must say.

When I'm bored or someone is trying to engage me in the meaningless drivel they call a life, I put together outfits in my imagination. I honestly think I devote more time to thinking about what i'm wearing than anyone on this site.

                        Which isn't saying a lot.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.
                        -Richard Dawkins
