  • Best P2P client software?

I haven't been using any P2P software lately though I used to use Kazaa Lite and WinMX. Kazaa had lots of files but often the files weren't what they claimed to be and you couldn't find that out until after you'd downloaded it while WinMx just didn't have enough files to find anything but the most popular files. I know some of you keep your nose to the street so can you tell me which P2P client software out there these days?

        Direct Connect

However, if you are going to use it, it's best to do a google search for DC++.

DC++ announces the freedom to share! DC++ is an open source client for Windows for the Direct Connect/Advanced Direct Connect network.

          I've always like emule
But lately I've been using Azureus a lot, but since it's a bittorrent client you need to know where to find the files (it's not possible to search within the program)

dc++ is slow... you can't download the same file from several users at the same time

                Doesn't matter much if you're DLing mp3s.

DC++ is still the best. Doesn't matter if you can't download the same file from multiple users if you can download a 700 MB file in under an hour from one user anyway. Or in 20 minutes if you really get a lucky speed.

Well, DC++ works locally very well. Many people have connections of 4-6 Mbit locally (up and down), which gives me a very good download if I happen to be downloading from then. Otherwise, from people with 1.5 Mbit, it's still great at circa 200 KB/s.

Exeem is really fast and great. It uses Bittorrent files and is still in Beta mode.

I don't use anything but BitTorrent anymore. Mind you, only to download music that I already own on vinyl...
