  • Are you afraid of death or dying?

Been asked a couple of times before, but...

Are you afraid of i) death and/or ii) dying?

Does your answer to the first question depend on whether you believe there is something after this life or not?

Does your answer to the second question have anything to do with fear of a painful and slow death or something else?

    Not yet.

And no, cos when I'm dead I won't know about it...

I know it is totally contradictory, but I do kind of wish there was an afterlife just to show all the religious freaks in this world just how wrong they've been all their lives - kinda seems a shame not to be able to show them what suckers they are...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Yes & no. I know I'll be with God after this life, but I don't want to leave my wife here alone.

This may sound silly, but yes I'm a bit afraid of death. Actually mostly because of the fact that death in general involves pain. I'm not 100% a hedonist, but I try to avoid pain when I can (seeing I live in pain almost all the time.. I've got something wrong with my back, it's horrible but gotta live with it), and a lot of deaths are quite painful.

I'm not afraid of not being around anymore. If I could die without knowing it or noticing it I wouldn't mind that much.

I'm not afraid of dying, but I find it to be a strange and curious concept. I guess I won't understand what it's all about until it's too late.

No & Yes. Dying is a natural thing but as a living being I want to live aslong as I can - it's quite natural and every living creature want do the same.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I'm far more afraid of pain. When the time comes that death is unavoidable, I think I'll quite enjoy being able to drift into a sleep from which nobody will wake me.

Sure. Ceasing to exist is a bummer. But it doesn't dominate my thoughts like it used to. Dunno why - exhaustion maybe?

Being in extreme pain would certainly be unpleasant, but it's a far less likely situation than being dead. So, I'm relatively unworried about it.

My health basically has gotten really bad recently. And instead of just continuing what I was doing, and allowing myself to die early, I have started trying to get on an exercise regime (and hvae cut out coffee).

I still don't think that I mind death, but when my health was really far down (And even now although I ahve been working out every other day for the last week) I felt really bad which sucked.
